The Beatles<\/strong>\u2019 final song \u201cNow and Then\u201d is nominated for a Grammy for Record of the Year and Ringo Starr<\/strong> is hoping they win.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019d love to win a Grammy,” Ringo tells <\/span>Music Week<\/strong><\/span><\/a>. “That\u2019s the business I\u2019m in \u2013 and the track is good. The last track ever by the boys.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

The song used vocals\u00a0John Lennon\u00a0<\/strong>recorded on a demo in the late ’70s, along with guitar the late\u00a0George Harrison\u00a0<\/strong>recorded in the mid-’90s, and new recordings from\u00a0Paul McCartney\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Ringo.<\/span><\/p>\n

Ringo says it was McCartney who decided to revisit the track, using new AI technology to clean up Lennon and Harrison\u2019s contributions, and says “he did a great job.”<\/span><\/p>\n

“He put the strings on and the lead guitar that gave the track its emotion,\u201d Ringo says. \u201cIt worked out really great and let\u2019s hope for a Grammy. We\u2019ll see; a lot of people are up for Grammys.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

But just because AI worked for them doesn\u2019t mean Ringo is totally embracing it.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re all a bit afraid of it, because it can steal you,\u201d he said. \u201cAnyone who knows how to use it can steal you. If they just play any five of my songs into the computer, AI gets all of it and knows my every vocal move. They can have me sing anything and it will sound like me, because it\u2019s taken from my personality.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

“But the good side is the way we used it on ‘Now And Then.’ God knows where it\u2019s going to go,\u201d he added. \u201cWe\u2019re all worrying about it, but nobody\u2019s really stolen anything yet.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n
