Gov\u2019t Mule<\/strong> is once again set to ring in the\u00a0new year at New York\u2019s Beacon Theatre, with shows set for Dec. 30 and Dec. 31, and the venue is certainly one\u00a0place frontman\u00a0Warren Haynes<\/strong>\u00a0is familiar with.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Beacon Theater is the place that I played more than any place on the planet,\u201d he tells ABC Audio. \u201cI think I’ve played there over 300 times now, which is absolutely crazy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Haynes notes that he loves playing there because the Beacon has \u201ca great vibe,\u201d adding that \u201cthe New York audience is fantastic.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s just a fantastic place to play,\u201d he says. \u201cWe just always wind up having great shows there.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Gov\u2019t Mule\u00a0has been celebrating New Year’s at the Beacon for over 20 years.\u00a0<\/span>\u201cIt’s kind of become tradition,” Haynes says.\u00a0<\/p>\n

And whether fans come out New Year\u2019s Eve or the night before, it\u2019s always special for him.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI love the challenge of trying to figure out something crazy every New Year’s,\u201d says Haynes, who released the new solo album <\/span>Million Voices Whisper<\/span><\/em> in October. \u201cBut it’s also nice the night before to just go to relax and not have to think about all this new material that we’re learning.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Following the New Year’s shows, Haynes has a busy schedule for 2025.\u00a0Gov’t Mule’s\u00a0Island Exodus 15 is\u00a0taking place in\u00a0Runaway Bay, Jamaica, from Jan. 19 to Jan. 23, and then he’ll\u00a0kick off a Warren Haynes Band<\/strong> tour on Feb. 7 in Knoxville, Tennessee.
