Elton John<\/strong> is in the running for a BAFTA nomination for his recent documentary\u00a0<\/span>Elton John: Never Too Late<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film has made the longlist for the <\/span>2025 EE Bafta Film Awards<\/strong><\/span><\/a>, handed out by the British Academy of Film and Television Arts.<\/span><\/p>\n

Never Too Late<\/span><\/em> is one of 10 films in the running in the documentary category. Others include <\/span>I Am: Celine Dion<\/span><\/em>, <\/span>Super\/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story<\/span><\/em> and <\/span>Will & Harper<\/span><\/em>, starring Will Ferrell<\/strong> and Harper Steele<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

The final list of nominees will be announced Jan. 15, with the EE BAFTA Film Awards ceremony happening Feb. 16 at London\u2019s Royal Festival Hall, hosted by <\/span>Dr. Who<\/span><\/em> star David Tennant<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n

Elton John: Never Too Late<\/span><\/em> premiered in December on Disney+, featuring never-before-seen footage of Elton’s career and of his life today as a husband and father.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film missed out on earning a spot on the Academy Awards short list for best documentary, but his song from the movie, \u201cNever Too Late,\u201d which he wrote with Brandi Carlile<\/strong>, Bernie Taupin<\/strong>\u00a0and producer\u00a0Andrew Watt<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>is on the short list for best original song.<\/span><\/p>\n

The\u00a0Academy Award nominations will be revealed Jan. 17.<\/span><\/p>\n
