{"id":31167,"date":"2025-01-08T00:05:13","date_gmt":"2025-01-08T00:05:13","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/kiss-settles-lawsuit-with-former-hairstylist\/"},"modified":"2025-01-08T00:05:13","modified_gmt":"2025-01-08T00:05:13","slug":"kiss-settles-lawsuit-with-former-hairstylist","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/kiss-settles-lawsuit-with-former-hairstylist\/","title":{"rendered":"KISS settles lawsuit with former hairstylist"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2025-01-07\/M_KISS_051623.png\" alt><figcaption>ABC\/Tsuni<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>KISS<\/strong> members <strong>Gene Simmons<\/strong> and <strong>Paul Stanley<\/strong> have settled a lawsuit filed by their longtime hairstylist who sued\u00a0the duo for wrongful termination.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>David Matthews<\/strong>, not to be confused with Rock &amp; Roll Hall of Famer <strong>Dave Matthews<\/strong>, had worked with Simmons and Stanley since 1992; his primary job\u00a0was styling and applying the rockers\u2019 wigs.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In February 2023, Matthews sued the KISS members and their manager <strong>Doc McGhee<\/strong>, claiming he was fired in 2022 after complaining about \u201cunsafe&#8221; COVID-19 protocols on their End of the Road tour. The complaints came after KISS&#8217; longtime guitar tech\u00a0<strong>Fran Stueber<\/strong>\u00a0died after contracting COVID-19 on the tour.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The\u00a0two sides were due in court on Jan. 22, but on Monday they informed the judge\u00a0handling the dispute that they\u2019ve \u201cresolved the case.\u201d Terms of the settlement have not been released.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Simmons and Stanley still face a lawsuit filed in 2023 by Stueber\u2019s family. He passed away in October 2021, and his family is suing for negligence and wrongful death.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2025, ABC Audio.
