The album had been recorded in secret while he was battling the disease, and Visconti described the record as Bowie\u2019s \u201cparting gift\u201d to fans.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><em><span class=\"s1\">Blackstar<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\"> debuted at #1 on the <\/span><em><span class=\"s1\">Billboard<\/span><\/em><span class=\"s1\"> 200 Album chart, making it Bowie\u2019s only #1 album.
