While Rush<\/strong>\u2019s Geddy Lee<\/strong> and Alex Lifeson<\/strong> are still close, and still play music together, fans shouldn\u2019t hold out hope that they\u2019ll resurrect the band.<\/p>\n

In a new interview with Classic Rock<\/strong><\/em><\/a> magazine, Lifeson reveals he and Lee enjoy jamming together, but that doesn\u2019t mean we\u2019ll see Rush again.<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s good to jam with friends as you get older,\u201d Lifeson shares. \u201cI need to play. Once a week I go to Ged\u2019s \u2013 it\u2019s in the calendar \u2013 keep my fingers moving, play Rush stuff, new jams.\u00a0We do record it, but I couldn\u2019t even begin to tell you where it\u2019ll go.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lifeson\u00a0says there are days \u201cI wake up wanting to go out there and tour again,\u201d but then there are others where he doesn\u2019t, especially because there’s no replacing their drummer,\u00a0Neil Peart<\/strong>, who passed away in 2020.<\/p>\n

\u201cFor forty years Rush included Neil,\u201d he says. \u201cAnd I don\u2019t think putting some new version together would have the same magic.\u201d<\/p>\n

Rush\u2019s final tour, R40, ended in 2015, with Lifeson noting they \u201cwent out on a high note playing as well as ever with one of our best stage shows.”<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess I\u2019d rather be remembered for that legacy than returning as the top Rush tribute band,” he adds.<\/p>\n
