We are therefore very proud that we are continually recognizing some of the culturally most important writers of all time and that this year&#8217;s slate represents not just iconic songs, but also diversity and unity across genres and ethnicity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>He adds, \u201cThese songwriters have enriched the lives of billions of listeners the world over. It&#8217;s our honor to honor them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Artists who were nominated, but not chosen this year, include <strong>Bryan Adams<\/strong>, <strong>Steve Winwood<\/strong>, <strong>Boy George<\/strong>, <strong>Bread<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>David Gates<\/strong>, <strong>Sheryl Crow<\/strong>, <strong>Alanis Morissette<\/strong>, <strong>Janet Jackson<\/strong>, <strong>Eminem,<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Tommy James<\/strong> and the members of <strong>Public Enemy<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The 2025 class will be celebrated at the annual Songwriters Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Gala, taking place June 12, in New York City.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2025, ABC Audio.
