{"id":31295,"date":"2025-01-23T21:02:31","date_gmt":"2025-01-23T21:02:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/jeff-becks-guitar-collection-brings-in-over-10-million-at-auction\/"},"modified":"2025-01-23T21:02:31","modified_gmt":"2025-01-23T21:02:31","slug":"jeff-becks-guitar-collection-brings-in-over-10-million-at-auction","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/jeff-becks-guitar-collection-brings-in-over-10-million-at-auction\/","title":{"rendered":"Jeff Beck\u2019s guitar collection brings in over $10 million at auction"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2025-01-23\/Getty_JeffBeck_012325.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Larry Busacca\/Getty Images for Gibson<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>A collection of <strong>Jeff Beck<\/strong>\u2019s guitars was sold at auction Thursday, bringing in over $10 million, which is over eight times what they were expected to sell for.<\/p>\n<p>The auction took place at <a href=\"https:\/\/press.christies.com\/jeff-beck-the-guitar-collectionat-christies-totals-ps8727284-over-eight-times-the-pre-sale-estimateled-by-jeff-becks-1954-oxblood-gibson-les-paul-which-realised-ps1068500100-sold-the-sale-welcomed\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>Christie\u2019s in London<\/strong><\/a>, with bids coming in from 40 countries.<\/p>\n<p>Among the guitars sold\u00a0were Beck\u2019s iconic 1954 \u201cOxblood\u201d Gibson Les Paul, which\u00a0brought in over $1.3 million, double its initial estimate, setting a new world record for the sale of a Gibson Les Paul. In addition, Beck\u2019s Fender \u201cAnoushka\u201d guitar sold for $1.2 million and another Fender, known as \u201cThe Tele-Gib,\u201d sold for almost $857,000.<\/p>\n<p>Other guitars bringing in big bucks include Beck\u2019s \u201cYardburst,\u201d which sold for almost $500,000, and his \u201cTina\u201d guitar, which sold for almost $545,000 \u2014 36 times the presale estimate and a world record for a Jackson guitar. In addition, a pedal board used on Beck\u2019s final tour in 2022 sold for almost $156,000, which is also a world record.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am so happy that Jeff\u2019s guitars have been so popular amongst his fans and friends,\u201d Jeff\u2019s widow,\u00a0<strong>Sandra Beck<\/strong>, shared. \u201cThank you so much for your belief in Jeff\u2019s legacy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Proceeds from the four items sold during the auction, including an autographed Fender signature Stratocaster, are being donated to the Folly Wildlife Rescue in Tunbridge Wells.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2025, ABC Audio.
