On This Day, Jan. 24, 2017\u2026<\/p>\n

Allman Brothers Band<\/strong> drummer Butch Trucks<\/strong> died by suicide in West Palm Beach, Florida. He was 69.<\/p>\n

Born Claude Hudson Trucks<\/strong>, Butch joined the Allman Brothers Band in 1969 and played with them throughout their career. He was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame with the band in 1995.<\/p>\n

Butch’s\u00a0nephew, guitarist Derek Trucks,<\/strong> joined ABB in 1999 and went on to form the Tedeschi Trucks Band\u00a0<\/strong>with his wife Susan Tedeschi<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0Derek’s brother, Duane Trucks<\/strong>, is the drummer for Widespread Panic<\/strong>.<\/p>\n
