Sunday, Jan. 26, would have been guitarist Eddie Van Halen<\/strong>\u2019s 70th birthday, and his family and bandmates marked the occasion on social media.<\/p>\n

The late rocker\u2019s son, Mammoth WVH<\/strong> frontman\u00a0Wolfgang Van Halen<\/strong>, shared a photo<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0of his dad with his finger up his nose, captioning the shot, \u201c70. That\u2019s a lot of candles. Happy Birthday, Pop. Love and miss you more than you could ever know.\u201d<\/p>\n

Former Van Halen<\/strong> frontman Sammy Hagar<\/strong>\u00a0posted a tribute<\/strong><\/a> to Eddie with a photo of them rocking together onstage.<\/p>\n

\u201chappy 70th birthday, my brother wherever you are,\u201d he wrote. \u201ci will love and miss you and what we did together forever,” adding that he and Van Halen bassist Michael Anthony<\/strong>\u00a0\u201cwill keep it live, and alive.\u201d<\/p>\n

Anthony also posted<\/strong><\/a> a series of photos with Eddie, with the message, \u201cHappy Heavenly Birthday Ed, miss ya.\u201d<\/p>\n

Eddie Van Halen passed away Oct. 6, 2020, at age 65 following a long battle with cancer.<\/p>\n
