John Fogerty<\/strong> and Smokey Robinson<\/strong>\u00a0will be honored at the Bruce Springsteen<\/strong> Archives and Center for American Music\u2019s third annual American Music Honors.<\/p>\n

This year\u2019s other honorees include Rage Against the Machine<\/strong>\u00a0guitarist Tom Morello<\/strong>, Emmylou Harris<\/strong> and Joe Ely<\/strong>, with Springsteen and E Street Band<\/strong> members Steven Van Zandt<\/strong>, Patti Scialfa<\/strong>\u00a0and Nils Lofgren<\/strong> confirmed as presenters.<\/p>\n

The awards are handed out each year to artists “who have demonstrated artistic excellence, creative integrity, and a longstanding commitment to the value of music in our national consciousness.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0third annual American Music Honors\u00a0will take place April 26 at the Pollak Theatre at Monmouth University in West Long Branch, New Jersey, the home of the Bruce Springsteen Archives.<\/p>\n

Van Zandt\u2019s band Disciples of Soul<\/strong> will act as house band for the night, with Brian Williams<\/strong> hosting the evening.<\/p>\n

The American Music Honors launched in 2023, with Van Zandt, Darlene Love<\/strong>,\u00a0Sam & Dave<\/strong>‘s Sam Moore<\/strong> and Steve Earle<\/strong> honored. Last year\u2019s\u00a0honorees included John Mellencamp<\/strong>, Jackson Browne<\/strong>, Dion DiMucci<\/strong> and Mavis Staples<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The event is open to the public, with tickets going on sale March 25.<\/p>\n
