The band, who was joined by guest keyboardist <strong>Billy Preston<\/strong>, did nine takes of five songs \u2014 \u201cGet Back,\u201d \u201cDon\u2019t Let Me Down,\u201d \u201cI\u2019ve Got A Feeling,\u201d \u201cOne After 909\u201d and \u201cDig A Pony.\u201d The police pulled the plug after 42 minutes.<\/p>\n<p>The concert\u00a0took place while The Beatles were recording what would become their album <em>Let It Be<\/em>. It was released May 8, 1970, almost a month after the band\u2019s breakup.<\/p>\n<p>Footage from the concert was used in the 1970 documentary <em>Let It Be<\/em>.\u00a0A remastered version of the doc\u00a0debuted on Disney+ in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>In 2021, the entire rooftop performance was featured in the eight-hour Disney+ docuseries <em>The Beatles: Get Back<\/em>, directed by <strong>Peter Jackson<\/strong>. The full rooftop concert was then released to streaming services as a standalone album, <em>Get Back &#8211; The Rooftop Performance<\/em>, in January 2022.<\/p>\n<p><em>The Beatles: Get Back<\/em> went on to win five Emmys, including best limited documentary series.<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2025, ABC Audio.
