Paul McCartney<\/strong> is the latest artist to pay tribute to British singer\/actress and Rolling Stones<\/strong> muse\u00a0Marianne Faithfull<\/strong>, who passed away Thursday at the age of 78.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat sad news that Marianne Faithfull has passed away,\u201d The Beatles<\/strong> star wrote on Instagram<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cShe came into my life in the Sixties and was a beautiful, sweet 17 year old who radiated innocent joy. Then through the years I was lucky enough to run into her and to become a life-long friend.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s very sad to think that I won\u2019t be meeting her again but my memories of our encounters over the years will always bring me joy,\u201d he continued. \u201cMay god bless you Marianne and guide you in the next steps of your journey.\u201d<\/p>\n

The sons of McCartney’s Beatles bandmate John Lennon<\/strong>\u00a0also paid tribute to Faithfull on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Sean Ono Lennon<\/strong> shared a picture<\/strong><\/a> of her with the caption \u201cR.I.P.,\u201d\u00a0a heart emoji and \u201cMiss You\u2026,\u201d while Julian Lennon<\/strong> called her<\/strong><\/a> \u201ca uniquely special soul\u201d and \u201cone of a kind,\u201d adding that she was \u201csomeone who truly did stand out among her contemporaries.\u201d<\/p>\n
