R.E.M.<\/strong> has contributed a song to a 90-track compilation album raising money for those affected by the California wildfires.<\/p>\n

Good Music to Lift Los Angeles<\/em> will feature previously unreleased recordings, including covers, remixes, live versions and unreleased demos, and will be available on\u00a0Bandcamp<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0for only 24 hours starting Friday at noon PT.<\/p>\n

The Rock & Roll Hall of Famers revealed on Instagram<\/strong><\/a> that their contribution to the album is a\u00a0previously unreleased live\u00a0recording of the\u00a0<\/span>New Adventures in Hi-Fi <\/span><\/em>track<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>\u201cElectrolite,\u201d from the Montreux Jazz Festival, July 6, 1999.<\/span><\/p>\n

Other artists contributing to the\u00a0compilation\u00a0include Soul Asylum<\/strong>, Dawes<\/strong>, The Postal Service<\/strong> and\u00a0Death Cab for Cutie<\/strong>, Jeff Tweedy<\/strong>, Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit<\/strong>, Modest Mouse\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Tenacious D<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Proceeds from the album will go to California Community Foundation\u2019s Wildfire Recovery Fund and the LA Food Bank.\u00a0<\/p>\n
