A new movie about the late Roy Orbison<\/strong> is in the works.<\/p>\n

Variety<\/strong><\/em><\/a> reports that Orbison\u2019s family has teamed with Compelling Pictures for a biopic and a documentary on the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer, best known for such hits as \u201cOh, Pretty Woman\u201d and \u201cCrying.”<\/p>\n

According to the trade, the feature film is being described as \u201ca romance more than a traditional biopic,\u201d telling the story of Orbison\u2019s relationship with his wife and manager,\u00a0Barbara<\/strong>, who helped guide his comeback in the ’80s.<\/p>\n

The film, with the working title You Got It<\/em>, after Orbison\u2019s posthumous 1989 hit single, will be produced by Denis O\u2019Sullivan<\/strong>, who produced the Queen<\/strong> biopic\u00a0<\/strong>Bohemian Rhapsody,<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Jeff Kalligheri<\/strong>, who produced the Whitney Houston<\/strong> biopic\u00a0I Wanna Dance with Somebody.<\/em><\/p>\n

\u201cThe Orbisons are elated to find the perfect partners in Compelling Pictures for the Roy Orbison biopic,\u201d Orbison\u2019s sons said in a statement. \u201cDenis and Jeff\u2019s vision for this journey through Roy\u2019s life is incredible.\u201d<\/p>\n

Orbison passed away in December 1988 at the age of 52. In addition to his solo career, he had several hits as a member of the Traveling Wilburys<\/strong>, which also featured George Harrison<\/strong>, Tom Petty<\/strong> and ELO<\/strong>\u2019s Jeff Lynne<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Orbison\u2019s many accolades include being a member of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Songwriters Hall of Fame, Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame and Musicians Hall of Fame. He won five Grammy Awards and was honored with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.<\/p>\n
