Saturday Night Live<\/em> celebrated\u00a0its 50th\u00a0anniversary with\u00a0the three-plus hour live\u00a0SNL50: The Anniversary Special<\/em> on NBC Sunday night, and like a regular SNL<\/em> show it featured some musical guests.<\/p>\n

The show opened with a performance of the Simon & Garfunkel<\/strong> track \u201cHomeward Bound<\/strong><\/a>,\u201d featuring Paul Simon<\/strong> and Sabrina Carpenter<\/strong>, with Simon noting he first performed the tune on the show in 1976 with Beatle<\/strong>\u00a0George Harrison<\/strong>,\u00a0and Sabrina adding that she wasn\u2019t alive yet and neither were her parents.<\/p>\n

Wrapping up the night was Paul McCartney<\/strong>, who performed<\/strong><\/a> the Abbey Road<\/em> side two medley that includes “Golden Slumbers,” “Carry That Weight” and “The End.” “The End” was an important part to an infamous SNL<\/em> sketch where an excited\u00a0Chris Farley<\/strong>\u00a0interviewed McCartney,\u00a0asking him\u00a0if the line “in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make” was true.<\/p>\n

Another rocker turning up on the show was Rolling Stones<\/strong> guitarist Keith Richards<\/strong>, who took part in a Q&A portion<\/strong><\/a> of the evening, asking Tina Fey<\/strong> and Amy Poehler<\/strong> if anyone found a scarf he left in 1988. While Tina and Amy said they didn\u2019t see it, the camera then cut to comedian Zach Galifianakis<\/strong> wearing it, and shouting \u201clook it\u2019s simply not here, OK. Can we all just stop looking?\u201d<\/p>\n
