Queen<\/strong> guitarist Brian May\u00a0<\/strong>gave\u00a0a surprise\u00a0performance Tuesday at the Gibson Garage in London.\u00a0He performed on the first day of Gibson Garage Fest and helped celebrate the launch of the new Gibson Custom Brian May SJ-200 12 String acoustic guitar.<\/p>\n

May took part in a Q&A and performed\u00a0Queen\u2019s \u201cLove of My Life\u201d on the guitar. He\u00a0was then joined by singer\/songwriter Arielle<\/strong> for a cover of\u00a0 The Everly Brothers<\/strong>\u2019 tune \u201cSo Sad (to Watch Good Love Go Bad)\u201d and his 1992 solo track “Love Token.”<\/p>\n

In other May news, the rocker\u00a0has given fans an update on his health.<\/p>\n

May announced in September he had suffered a minor stroke that left his ability to play guitar in doubt, and he’s now sharing with Premiere Guitar<\/strong><\/em><\/a> just how bad things were.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI couldn\u2019t get a fork from the table to my mouth without it all going all over the place,\u201d he says\u00a0in an interview. \u201cIt was scary.\u201d<\/p>\n

May\u00a0was fortunate, though, as his health started improving rather quickly.<\/p>\n

\u201cAfter only a few days, it\u2019s amazing what you can get back,\u201d he says. \u201cBy sheer willpower, you just start retraining your muscle.\u201d<\/p>\n

May adds that he\u2019s now gotten about 95% of his abilities back, sharing, \u201cThe short answer is, I\u2019m good.\u201d<\/p>\n
