Kansas<\/strong> has canceled two shows following the revelation that their singer, Ronnie Platt<\/strong>, has been diagnosed with thyroid cancer.<\/p>\n

Platt, who has been singing with the band since 2014, announced his diagnosis on social media<\/strong><\/a> on Feb. 15, assuring fans his cancer \u201chas a 99% survival rate\u201d and that it hasn\u2019t spread.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s contained to my thyroid. I just have to have my thyroid removed. Go through some rehab time and be right back in the saddle,\u201d he wrote. \u201cI sincerely appreciate everyone\u2019s positive thoughts and prayers. I have some absolutely amazing people going to bat for me!!\u201d<\/p>\n

He added, \u201cthis is just a bump in the road and will be behind me very soon! so everyone please CARRY ON!\u201d<\/p>\n

Ahead of the announcement the\u00a0band canceled<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0their Friday show in New Orleans citing \u201cband illness.\u201d They\u2019ve also canceled<\/strong><\/a> their March 1 show in Lake Charles, Louisiana, for the same reason.<\/p>\n

Kansas is next scheduled to appear on the ’70s Rock & Romance Cruise 2025, departing from Fort\u00a0Lauderdale, Florida, on March 15. Their next\u00a0headlining show is April 4 in Ivins, Utah. A complete list of dates can be found at kansasband.com<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n
