After almost 20 years, R&B group The Stylistics<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>best known for such songs as “You Are Everything” and “You Make Me Feel Brand New,”\u00a0are back with a brand-new album, Falling in Love With My Girl,\u00a0<\/em>which is out now.<\/p>\n

Founding member Airrion Love<\/strong> tells ABC Audio the idea for the project was sparked by their producer Tom Cridland<\/strong>,\u00a0<\/strong>noting,\u00a0\u201cHe just asked us, \u2018You guys want to record again?\u2019 And we said, \u2018Sure.'”<\/p>\n

Love\u00a0says when they agreed, Cridland offered up some ideas for the new album, including getting some of his famous friends involved. Those friends include\u00a0The Elton John Band<\/strong>, The Rolling Stones<\/strong>\u2019 Ronnie Wood<\/strong>, KISS<\/strong>\u2019 Gene<\/strong> Simmons<\/strong>, ZZ Top<\/strong>\u2019s Billy F Gibbons<\/strong>, Justin Hawkins<\/strong> of The Darkness<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Shania Twain<\/strong>, who all appear on the album. Shania is featured on the first single, \u201cYes, I Will<\/strong><\/a>,” which she also wrote.<\/p>\n

Love says originally he was a little apprehensive\u00a0about bringing in so many\u00a0guest stars, because he was concerned about how their fans would react.<\/p>\n

“With this little different flair, at first I was a little worried. We don’t want to lose our fan base,” he says. “And now listening to this stuff, I think it’s identifiably Stylistics. But it just shows our versatility.”<\/p>\n

\u201cNow, listening to the finished product, we’re really pleased,” he adds.<\/p>\n

Love has been with The Stylistics since 1968, and even he\u2019s amazed\u00a0he and the band are still around making music.<\/p>\n

\u201cYou don’t realize how long it’s been until you talk to someone about that time,\u201d he shares. \u201cI’m 75, and I don’t, I don’t feel 75.” He adds, “I’m still kicking, just not as high.”\u00a0<\/p>\n
