R.E.M.<\/strong>\u2019s Peter Buck<\/strong> made a surprise appearance at\u00a0Friday’s Seattle show of Michael Shannon<\/strong> and Jason Narducy<\/strong>, who are on tour celebrating the 40th anniversary of R.E.M.\u2019s 1985 album, Fables of the Reconstruction.<\/em><\/p>\n

According to setlist.fm<\/strong><\/a>, Buck joined the duo for the second set of the show, once they finished performing Fables of the Reconstruction<\/em> in its entirety. Buck played on the Reckoning<\/em> tracks \u201cTime After Time (AnnElise),\u201d \u201cHarborcoat,\u201d \u201cPretty Persuasion,\u201d \u201cSo. Central Rain (I\u2019m Sorry)\u201d and \u201cSecond Guessing,\u201d the Life\u2019s Rich Pageant<\/em> track \u201cCuyahoga,\u201d and the Murmur<\/em> song \u201cSitting Still.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt was incredibly moving to sit in on a few songs with the band. And kinda strange too\u201d Peter shared on Instagram<\/strong><\/a>. \u201cIt\u2019s amazing the power of music to transport you through time.\u201d<\/p>\n

This is the second time\u00a0Buck has joined Shannon and Narducy at an R.E.M.-themed show. He previously took the stage with them in 2024\u00a0in R.E.M.\u2019s home city of Athens, Georgia, for the duo\u2019s Murmur<\/em> tour. At that show, R.E.M.\u2019s Mike Mills<\/strong>, Bill Berry<\/strong> and Michael Stipe<\/strong> also joined the duo on stage, although Stipe did not perform.<\/p>\n

Shannon and Narducy’s next show is happening Monday in Indianapolis. The tour runs through March 14 in Chicago.<\/p>\n
