{"id":31514,"date":"2025-02-24T21:02:27","date_gmt":"2025-02-24T21:02:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/ringo-starr-makes-his-grand-ole-opry-debut\/"},"modified":"2025-02-24T21:02:27","modified_gmt":"2025-02-24T21:02:27","slug":"ringo-starr-makes-his-grand-ole-opry-debut","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/101gold\/ringo-starr-makes-his-grand-ole-opry-debut\/","title":{"rendered":"Ringo Starr makes his Grand Ole Opry debut"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2025-02-24\/M_RingoStarr_DisneyRandyHolmes_020325.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Disney\/Randy Holmes<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>The Beatles<\/strong>&#8216; <strong>Ringo Starr<\/strong> made his Grand Ole Opry debut over the weekend.<\/p>\n<p>The rocker performed at the Nashville institution on Friday, coming\u00a0onto the stage in a big white cowboy hat, like the one he wears on the cover of his recently released country album, <em>Look Up<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs you may have noticed I\u2019m dressed up a bit tonight,\u201d Ringo\u00a0told the audience,\u00a0as seen in fan-shot video posted to YouTube. \u201cI\u2019m a cowboy inside and this is a great honor and an incredible moment for me.\u201d He talked about growing up loving country music, noting, \u201cThis would just be a dream to end up here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Ringo performed three songs at the Opry: the <em>Look Up<\/em> tune \u201cTime on My Hands\u201d\u00a0and\u00a0\u201cAct Naturally,&#8221; both with <strong>Molly Tuttle<\/strong>, and his iconic\u00a0Beatles hit \u201cWith a Little Help From My Friends.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Friday\u2019s show was the second time Ringo\u2019s\u00a0performed in Nashville this year. In January he played two nights at the Ryman Auditorium joined by special guests\u00a0<strong>Sheryl Crow<\/strong>, <strong>Jack White<\/strong>, <strong>Brenda Lee<\/strong>, <strong>Mickey Guyton<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>Emmylou Harris<\/strong>\u00a0and more. A CBS special recorded at the concerts, <em>Ringo &amp; Friends at the Ryman<\/em>, is set to air March 10 at 8 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n<p>Ringo is also set to kick off another tour with his <strong>All-Starr<\/strong>\u00a0<strong>Band<\/strong> on June 12 in Bridgeport, Connecticut.
