Well, now his bandmate <strong>John Lennon<\/strong> is getting one, too.<\/p>\n<p>The Royal Mint is set to celebrate the legendary musician\u2019s legacy with\u00a0a new commemorative coin, being released to coincide with the year\u00a0Lennon would have\u00a0turned 85.<\/p>\n<p>Designed by expert coin designer <strong>Henry Gray<\/strong>, the coin features a portrait of Lennon taken on the roof of his New York City penthouse. It is based on an image from music photographer <strong>Bob Gruen<\/strong>. The portrait is in the middle of the coin, with Lennon\u2019s name on the left and the word \u201cImagine,\u201d in reference to his iconic single and album, on the right.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cArguably one of the greatest singers and songwriters of all time, Lennon\u2019s achievements as an artist, activist and advocate for peace continues to live on and will now be forever remembered on a coin,\u201d <strong>Rebecca Morgan<\/strong>, director of commemorative coin at The Royal Mint, said. \u201cStill admired by millions of people and generations worldwide, we hope this coin and its design will be treasured for many years to come.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Lennon coin will go on sale Monday at 9 a.m. GMT via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.royalmint.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><strong>The Royal Mint website<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The coin is part of The Royal Mint\u2019s Music Legends coin series.
