About 80 to 90 NMSU Aggies rely on donated goods at the school food bank, including students, faculty and staff. A Las Cruces lawmaker has introduced a bill in the state Legislature seeking to help hungry college students get the food they need to survive. KVIA TV is reporting House Bill 69 would appropriate $100,000 to create a “pilot program to reduce college hunger.” The program would operate like a state grant, Universities would submit proposals as to how they could best use the money or how the funds would help strengthen the resources of their college food bank.
