Lyndsey Kalson of Las Cruces Today and Brian Clark, a local musician and now event planner, talked recently on the phone about a grassroots endeavor to bring together our array of talented musicians with our unique local businesses.
The idea- local businesses in Las Cruces invite local musicians to perform within their venues, even if they wouldn’t be a traditional music venue in the sense we’ve all be used to. The performances will be able to be enjoyed live by venue patrons following public health orders, and will also be streamed live online at the event Facebook page.
The festival will feature different genres from local musicians across Las Cruces. From Blaze the Nation to Chris Baker to Daisy Blue- the musical talent we have in the Mesilla Valley is amazing. And with the changes we’re all having to face as businesses reopen and we make commitments to help keep each other as safe as possible, showing support and finding new ways to enjoy the things we love is more important than ever. Even the festival name is a play on words, we may not have live music like we used to- but we’re still ALIVE and moving forward together.
