County Treasurer announces new summer hours

Doña Ana County, NM- Starting next week, the Treasurer’s office will be testing a more convenient schedule for public access by extending its office hours to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday through the summer. The goal of the summer hours is to provide the public with more access to the office during the week with an extension of office hours, while crediting staff for the extra time worked during the week with a 3 p.m. close on Fridays.

The new Treasurer’s Office summer hours are:

8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday

8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Friday

“Most of our taxpayers work from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week, making it difficult to take care of any business with our office. This summer schedule will give us the opportunity to service our taxpayers at a more convenient time,” County Treasurer Eric Rodriguez said.

In addition, the updated schedule will allow time for the staff to work on several projects during the summer, including an outbound collection effort on delinquent manufactured homes which totals an outstanding balance of over $2.5 million in property taxes.

Normal business hours will resume at the end of September, before tax season.
