Doña Ana County Fire & Emergency Services responded to a structure fire caused by an electrical short that quickly spread throughout the home on Paseo Real Drive, in Chaparral at 3:44 p.m., on Tuesday, May 5.
During the fire, two firefighters were injured and evaluated at a local hospital before being released. No other injuries were reported. No damage was reported to adjacent structures.
With support from the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, American Medical Response, El Paso Electric and Otero County firefighters, the fire was brought under control and extinguished shortly after 4 p.m.
County Fire Stations 2-Anthony, 4-La Mesa, 9-Chaparral, and Farsouth responded to the call.
The Doña Ana County Fire and Emergency Services Department responded to a fire reported at approximately 6:14 a.m. on Friday, May 8 at Diaz Road in Doña Ana.
A call to Mesilla Valley Regional Dispatch Authority, MVRDA initially reported smoke rising from the roof of a mobile home. The mobile home was partially burned.
The fire was brought under control by 6:44 a.m. No injuries were reported and no adjacent structures were involved. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
County fire units on scene were stations 1-Doña Ana, 8-Radium Springs, with assistance from the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Department and the American Medical Response, AMR.
