Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial Hosts

100th Anniversary Cultural Event and Celebration


WHO: Event attendees, Native American and Indigenous tribes from North America and around the world, visitors to Gallup, local residents, rodeo participants, Queen and Princess candidates, youth participants, local businesses, and organizations


WHAT: The Intertribal Ceremonial Office (ICO), Gallup Inter-Tribal Indian Ceremonial Association, Inc. (GITICA), and the City of Gallup announce the 100th anniversary Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial event between August 4 and August 14, 2022 in Gallup, N.M. One of New Mexico’s longest running and historic events will offer a mixture of in-person and virtual events including:

· Thursday “Kick Off” night Parade, August 4

· Virtual Artisan Market, August 4 – 14

· 5K Run/Walk, August 5 in Gallup

· “One World Beat” Performances, August 5 – 6 at Red Rock Park

· Film Festival, August 7 – 9 at El Morro Theatre

· Rodeo Events, August 7 – 14 at Butler Jackpot Arena and Red Rock Arena

· Juried Art Show, August 10 – 14 at the Exhibit Hall

· Juried Art Show & Opening Night Wine Gala, August 10

· Ceremonial Queen and Little Miss Ceremonial Pageant, August 8 – 10 at El Morro Theatre and Event Center

· Powwow, August 12 – 13 at Red Rock Park

· Navajo Song & Dance, August 14

· Saturday Parade, August 13


WHY: Founded in 1922, this year’s event will be full of activities celebrating Native American and Indigenous heritage and culture. The Gallup Intertribal Ceremonial excited to once again welcome travelers to Gallup, N.M. for a monumental centennial celebration.
