Landing Demolition and New Installation at Dial-A-Ride Administration Office

As part of the City’s commitment to improve safety and security at City-owned properties, Facilities Management will be working with a local contractor to demolish an existing landing adjacent to the entrance and exit on the north side of the Dial-a-Ride Administration Office, 1501 E. Hadley Ave. A new, improved landing with railings will be installed in its place.

Site work is expected to start on Friday, September 4, and is anticipated to conclude by Monday, September 14, weather permitting. The contractor will be working between the hours of 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday, and on the weekends as needed.

The work involves demolishing the existing landing, and then preparing, forming, and pouring a new landing, to include railings. Barrels, cones, and/or warning tape will be placed as appropriate to delineate the work zone to address pedestrian and vehicular safety. Access to the Dial-a-Ride Office doors via the east and west sides, including American’s with Disabilities Act (ADA) routes, is expected to remain open for the duration of the project. Signs will be posted if access to the building is impacted.

The City has verified that no conflicting public or private construction projects will take place in that immediate area during this time.
