LCPS Students Graduate Under Unprecedented Circumstances

It may be strange and stop to think about it, but history will look back at our actions during this unprecedented time. They will look back at our unity, our mistakes, our generosity and our struggle. When future generations look back on this time, they will see the graduating class of 2020. The class of 2020 will stand as a symbol of working through the turmoil. Young men and women who’ve gone the distance, and finished their life-long commitment to grade school, like a bear outside of a blazing forest fire.

The LCPS class of 2020 has been forced to adapt to the changing times, and they have made an innovative solution. In wake of the recent COVID-19 public health crisis, and the accompanying quarantine rules and school closures, the graduation ceremony for the class of 2020 has to be a unique one. Luckily, through the creative problem solving of our wonderful school administrators at LCPS, our high school seniors will get a graduation ceremony that will be one for the books.

Outside of the Field of Dreams, students will be able to form a line while staying inside of their vehicle and receiving their diploma through the car window. Incredible times call for incredible measures, and this graduation ceremony is sure to be a historic one that will be looked back on for centuries to come!
