Lionel Richie<\/strong>\u2019s daughter\u00a0Sofia Richie Grainge<\/strong>\u00a0and her husband,\u00a0Elliot Grainge<\/strong>,\u00a0recently announced\u00a0they were expecting\u00a0their first child, and Lionel is excited to be a grandfather again.\u00a0<\/p>\n

People<\/a><\/em>\u00a0talked to Lionel at the premiere of the Netflix “We Are The World” documentary,\u00a0The Greatest Night in Pop<\/em>, and he said he was \u201cpumped up\u201d about the upcoming addition to the family.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cI am now going to spoil yet another child in the world,\u201d he said.\u00a0\u201cAnd I am not quite sure what the child will do to me, but I’m hoping that the child gives the parents a bit of a run, because every parent wants to get even as to what you did to me.\u201d<\/p>\n

He adds, \u201cI’m in a position right now where I’m going to love this child to death, spoil him to death. And on very special occasions give the child back so the parents can actually raise this child.\u201d<\/p>\n

Lionel, who already has two grandkids thanks to daughter\u00a0Nicole Richie<\/strong>\u00a0and hubby\u00a0Joel Madden<\/strong>,\u00a0is confident Sophia’s going to be a \u201cfantastic\u201d mom. When it comes to guidance, he doesn’t really think any advice he’d offer would really matter.\u00a0<\/p>\n

\u201cThese are two loving parents, and I don’t think they really know what’s coming because every kid is different,\u201d Lionel says. \u201cSo no matter what advice I give them, there’s no manual for this. They’ll figure it out.\u201d<\/p>\n
