The Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, but Grammy-winning Canadian music superstars\u00a0Michael Bubl\u00e9<\/strong>\u00a0and\u00a0Justin Bieber<\/strong>\u00a0might not make it. That’s because on Saturday, they’ll be at the\u00a0NHL All-Star Game<\/a>, serving as celebrity captains \u2014 which Michael says makes him feel like a kid again.<\/p>\n

\u201cI love hockey,\u201d\u00a0he tells\u00a0People<\/em><\/a>. \u201cI’m a big fan of the game and I always love representing my country and my passion for the sport. I was thrilled to say yes to this opportunity.\u201d<\/p>\n

Michael has hung out with famous hockey players for years \u2014 in 2011, his favorite team, the Vancouver Canucks, even gave him a special one-day contract \u2014 but this is his first time at the All-Star Game, which is being hosted by the Toronto Maple Leafs.<\/p>\n

Michael tells\u00a0People\u00a0<\/em>that for him and the other celebrity captains, “We\u2019re like 12-year-olds getting to do this.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is like every kid\u2019s dream… [a]re you kidding me? Every kid who loves the NHL. Imagine you get to go and sit with the greatest players in the world,” he adds. “We get to be part of choosing the all-Star team that is going to be competing against each other? That\u2019s crazy!\u201d<\/p>\n

The selection will take place Thursday night, February 1, during a mock draft\u00a0that\u00a0marks the start of a full weekend of festivities.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe all want to win, I\u2019m sure,” Michael says. “But what I am excited for is having drinks and enjoying each other\u2019s company. I\u2019m competitive, but win or lose, I\u2019m going to have a blast.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 2024 All-Star Game airs February 3 on ABC and ESPN+ at 3 p.m. ET.<\/p>\n
