Selena Gomez<\/strong>‘s two most recent songs, “Single Soon” and “Love On,” are both upbeat bops, but don’t expect her next album to necessarily sound like either one of those songs.<\/p>\n

\u201cI guess it\u2019s safe to say that \u2018Single Soon\u2019 and \u2018Love On\u2019 might not be really reflective of the project that I\u2019m working on,\u201d she tells Rolling Stone<\/strong><\/em><\/a>. \u201cThey are in spirit, but I\u2019m excited to explore more styles of music, and I think people will hopefully be surprised by the contrast.”<\/p>\n

“I like releasing songs that I love and I care about. I just released them into the world and later comes the full album,” she adds. As for when we can expect it, she says she “hopes” it’ll come out in 2024. Why wouldn’t it? Well, she’s somewhat busy: the fourth season of Only Murders in the Building<\/em> has just started filming, and she’s also busy prepping to portray music legend Linda Ronstadt<\/strong> in an upcoming biopic.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m stepping into someone\u2019s life, and that can be really intimidating,\u201d she says of the movie. \u201cBut I\u2019m beyond inspired by [Ronstadt], and I know too much about her at this point.\u201d<\/p>\n

As for her recent comment<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0on the Smartless<\/em> podcast that she feels like she has “one more album in me,” Selena says,\u00a0\u201cI love film. I love TV. I just feel like I haven\u2019t done a lot of the things that I want to do in that space.”<\/p>\n

“It\u2019s not that it\u2019s \u2018no, never\u2019 [to music], it\u2019s more that I would like to explore that world a bit more and have the time to actually do that.\u201d<\/p>\n
