The upcoming romantic comedy film The Idea of You<\/em> may be based on a book that was inspired by the life of Harry Styles<\/strong>, but star Nicholas Galitzine<\/strong> says the boy band character in the film is his own person.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s funny because it\u2019s not a comparison that I\u2019ve ever made,\u201d Galitzine told Variety<\/em><\/a> at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party on Sunday. \u201cBut people really like to make it. Hayes Campbell, the man I\u2019m playing, is a very different character and we want him to exist in his own world.\u201d<\/p>\n

The outlet also asked Galitzine if fans could expect Styles to show up at the film\u2019s premiere on the closing night of the South by Southwest film festival.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t know him personally. Harry, if you\u2019re in Austin, Texas, in the next week come along and chill with Annie \u00a0and I,\u201d Galitzine said.<\/p>\n

The Idea of You stars Anne Hathaway<\/strong> as a 40-year-old woman who falls in love with Galitzine\u2019s 24-year-old pop star. It\u2019s based on the eponymous book by Robinne Lee.<\/p>\n

While Lee told Vogue<\/em><\/a> in 2020 that The Idea of You \u201cwas never supposed to be a book about Harry Styles,\u201d she told blogger<\/a> Deborah Kalb<\/strong> in 2017 that the book\u2019s idea came to her after she was surfing YouTube and found One Direction<\/strong> music videos. Lee \u201ccame across the face of a boy I\u2019d never seen in a band I\u2019d never paid attention to, and it was so aesthetically perfect it took me by surprise.”<\/p>\n

“It was like\u2026art,\u201d she said at the time.<\/p>\n
