I have always been a huge Eric fan,\u201d Springfield <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/rickspringfield\/posts\/pfbid02v97wDK5vA2ChtTPJzonKcZcq2WHAaCNsiusjJ3T1eDt7srBoobi3JAv4kuUwtMTBl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>wrote on social media<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">. \u201cAmazing singer. Amazing writer. Good human. Why do we have to wait until we pass before we acknowledge what they mean to us.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The \u201cJessie\u2019s Girl\u201d singer noted how he opened for Carmen\u2019s band the <strong>Raspberries<\/strong> in 1974 when they were playing high school gyms,\u00a0sharing that they \u201cfollowed each others careers ever since.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cJust a brilliant musician that lesser artists have surpassed in fame but not talent,\u201d Springfield concluded. \u201cMay God speed your spirit home sweet Eric.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Other artists paying tribute to Carmen include:<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>E Street Band<\/strong> guitarist <strong>Steven Van Zandt<\/strong>, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/StevieVanZandt\/status\/1767421997804331184?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s2\"><strong>who wrote<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s2\">, \u201c<\/span><span class=\"s3\">Damn. Another friend gone. RIP Eric Carmen. The Raspberries set a production standard we\u2019re still trying to reach.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p3\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>KISS<\/strong>&#8216; <strong>Paul Stanley<\/strong>, who <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/PaulStanleyLive\/status\/1767383803910373564?s=20\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>shared<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">, \u201cAwful News \u2026 Although known to many for writing radio hits like &#8216;All By Myself&#8217; and others, Eric was a true rocker at heart.
