The Cyndi Lauper<\/strong> documentary,\u00a0<\/span>Let the Canary Sing<\/span><\/em>,<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>will make its streaming service debut on Paramount+ on June 4.<\/span><\/p>\n

Directed by Alison Ellwood<\/strong>, the documentary had its premiere last June at the Tribeca Festival.\u00a0According to the description, the film follows Cyndi\u2019s \u201cmeteoric ascent to stardom and her profound impact on generations through her music, ever-evolving punk style, unwavering feminism and tireless advocacy.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

A <\/span>new trailer<\/strong><\/span><\/a> for the doc has just been released, featuring footage from throughout Cyndi\u2019s career, as well as interview clips from Cyndi, Billy Porter<\/strong>, Boy George<\/strong>, Patti LaBelle <\/strong>and more.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cIf you don\u2019t know where you came from, you don\u2019t know where you\u2019re going. But if you\u2019re doing what you love \u2026 magic,\u201d Cyndi says in the clip.<\/span><\/p>\n

Deadline<\/strong><\/span><\/a> reports that to coincide with the streaming debut, a companion album also titled <\/span>Let the Canary Sing<\/span><\/em>\u00a0will be released, featuring such Cyndi hits as \u201cGirls Just Want To Have Fun,\u201d \u201cTrue Colors,\u201d \u201cI Drove All Night\u201d and more.<\/span><\/p>\n
