Rod Stewart<\/strong> may be closing in on the big 8-0, but a farewell tour isn’t in the two-time Rock & Roll Hall of Famer’s future.<\/p>\n

“I don’t see any possibility of slowing down anytime soon,” Rod tells Hello!<\/strong><\/em> magazine<\/strong><\/a>. “And as I get older, I only really want to do things that give me great pleasure.”<\/p>\n

His wife Penny Lancaster<\/strong>\u00a0confirms that, telling Hello!<\/em>, “He loves what he does so much and will never retire. He’s a workaholic and constantly on the move. I struggle to keep up with his training schedule. He works out three or four times a week \u2013 even on tour.”<\/p>\n

Having wrapped a European tour<\/strong><\/a>, Rod heads to Las Vegas next for\u00a0his final run of residency shows at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace.\u00a0 Some North American tour dates follow that, including a September 13 stadium show with Billy Joel<\/strong> in Cleveland.<\/p>\n

But in between all the work, Rod makes time for his ever-growing<\/strong><\/a> family of eight kids, their spouses and their children. He tells Hello!<\/em> that his approach to parenthood has changed over the years.<\/p>\n

“I used to be much more preoccupied with myself and my career,” he says. “But I’ve learnt from my mistakes and am more present.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

Penny adds, “We like to take every opportunity to bring the family, children, and grandchildren together\u00a0…\u00a0it requires a lot of planning, but at least two or three times a year, the whole clan comes together.”\u00a0<\/p>\n

She believes that family is what keeps Rod going, “especially the younger generation. They give him strength and drive.”<\/p>\n

And what keeps Rod and Penny going?\u00a0 He says, “We listen to each other and try to resolve all our disagreements — the dirty laundry as Penny says — right away, and before we go to bed.”<\/p>\n
