{"id":118118,"date":"2024-07-25T21:03:32","date_gmt":"2024-07-25T21:03:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/magic\/2024\/07\/25\/sting-to-replace-neil-young-at-ohana-festival\/"},"modified":"2024-07-25T21:03:32","modified_gmt":"2024-07-25T21:03:32","slug":"sting-to-replace-neil-young-at-ohana-festival","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/magic\/2024\/07\/25\/sting-to-replace-neil-young-at-ohana-festival\/","title":{"rendered":"Sting to replace Neil Young at Ohana Festival"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-07-25\/Getty_Sting_072524.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Paul Morigi\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Sting\u00a0<\/strong>is replacing <strong>Neil Young<\/strong>\u00a0at yet another festival.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">It&#8217;s already been announced that the former <strong>Police<\/strong> frontman\u00a0would be filling in for Young at\u00a0Kentucky&#8217;s Bourbon &amp; Beyond music festival on Sept. 19, and now he&#8217;s set to do the same at the\u00a0<strong>Eddie Vedder<\/strong>-curated Ohana Festival on\u00a0Sept. 28.\u00a0Sting will be taking the stage with guitarist and longtime collaborator\u00a0<strong>Dominic Miller\u00a0<\/strong>and drummer\u00a0<strong>Chris Maas<\/strong>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Young canceled his entire tour with backing band <strong>Crazy Horse<\/strong> in June due to health reasons, although he was recently announced as one of the performers at Farm Aid, happening Sept. 21 in Saratoga Springs, New York.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">The Ohana Festival,\u00a0taking place Sept. 27\u00a0to Sept. 29 in Dana Point, California, also features two headlining sets by <strong>Pearl Jam<\/strong>, on Sept. 27 and Sept. 29, as well as sets by\u00a0<strong>Alanis Morissette<\/strong>, <strong>Garbage<\/strong>, <strong>Crowded House<\/strong>,\u00a0<strong>The Breeders<\/strong>\u00a0and more.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">In other Sting news, he&#8217;s\u00a0set to premiere a new song as he helps French high-wire artist\u00a0<strong>Philippe Petit<\/strong> celebrate the 50th anniversary of his high-wire walk between the two towers of the World Trade Center.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">As previously reported, Sting will be performing at Petit\u2019s anniversary celebration, taking place Aug. 7 and Aug. 8 at Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. It turns out the performance\u00a0will include the debut of a song written about Petit, along with two other tracks.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Petit&#8217;s illegal walk between the two buildings in lower Manhattan happened on Aug. 7, 1974; during the celebration he plans to get back on the high wire for an artistic recreation of his original walk.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Tickets to the event <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.stjohndivine.org\/philippe-petit-towering\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>are on sale<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\"> now.<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
