That&#8217;s what<strong> John Legend<\/strong> and his wife,\u00a0<strong>Chrissy Teigen<\/strong>, found out when\u00a0their son<strong> Miles<\/strong>, 6, was\u00a0diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>Chrissy shared in an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C-GQGZdyHcu\/?img_index=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Instagram post<\/a>\u00a0Wednesday that Miles was diagnosed after being hospitalized for something unrelated\u00a0and is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C-GQGZdyHcu\/?img_index=2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">now wearing<\/a> a glucose monitor. A fan commented, &#8220;My two brothers have T1 &#8230; @nickjonas does too, your son should go meet bad a** people, and see he&#8217;s not alone and can still accomplish anything. It&#8217;s scary but it becomes second nature and you guys will rock it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Chrissy responded, &#8220;Nick was so kind to him!! We were so lucky to run into him.&#8221; Of course, <strong>Nick Jonas<\/strong> and John already knew each other from their time coaching on NBC&#8217;s<em> The Voice<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Another fan wrote, &#8220;Miles is gonna be the Nick Jonas of our generation!! so much love to all of you.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The fan was referring to the fact that Nick has been outspoken about his own Type 1 diabetes; he was diagnosed at age 13. He told<a href=\"https:\/\/people.com\/health\/nick-jonas-says-he-puts-too-much-pressure-on-himself-while-managing-diabetes-its-never-simple\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em> People<\/em><\/a> in 2021, <span>&#8220;It would have been amazing to have someone to look at at that time to say, &#8216;Oh, this is a person living with it and they&#8217;re following their dreams. They&#8217;re doing what they want to do with their lives and not letting it slow them down.'&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span>Nick added that his focus now is being that role model for others. He founded a charity, <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/beyondtype1.org\/livebeyond-instagram\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span>Beyond Type 1<\/span><\/a><span>, to bring the community together and provide solutions.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Copyright \u00a9 2024, ABC Audio.
