After teasing fans on social media, U2<\/strong> has now confirmed that a movie of their Sphere residency is coming, but you\u2019ll have to go to\u00a0Sin City to see it.<\/span><\/p>\n

The band and Sphere Entertainment just announced that <\/span>V-U2 An Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/span><\/em>will open at the Sphere on Sept. 5. It gives fans a glimpse at the band\u2019s residency,\u00a0<\/span>U2: UV Achtung Baby<\/span><\/em>, which opened in September 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n

The film, directed by U2 guitarist The Edge<\/strong> and his wife,\u00a0Morleigh Steinberg<\/strong>, was shot using the ultra-high-resolution camera system developed by Sphere Entertainment.\u00a0The screenings will use Sphere Immersive Sound, with the audience watching from haptic seats, which, according to a press release, \u201cuse vibrations so guests can \u2018feel\u2019 the experience.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

“The goal was to give the immersive movie goers as close to the live <\/span>U2:UV<\/span><\/em> concert experience as possible \u2014 and then some,\u201d says The Edge. \u201cI\u2019ve never seen a U2 show. I\u2019m so relieved I caught a great one.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Steinberg adds, \u201cWe knew all the tremendous capabilities of the technology, but we didn\u2019t know what to expect from the process of making this film. The end result is a cinematic experience that transports viewers into the energy and beauty of the live show.”<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n

Tickets to <\/span>V-U2 An Immersive Concert Film at Sphere Las Vegas <\/span><\/em>go on sale to U2.com subscribers Thursday. The general ticket sale starts Friday at 10 a.m. PT. Tickets start at $100.<\/span><\/p>\n
