Mariah Carey<\/strong> will kick off her Christmas Time tour<\/a> on Nov. 6\u00a0\u2014 and she may have a new song to perform by then.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Vanity Fair<\/em><\/a>,<\/em> Mariah says, “Well, I did write a Christmas song this year, but I don\u2019t know\u00a0how we\u2019d talk about that. Because I can\u2019t talk about these things, because then people get mad at me and say I\u2019m teasing them.”<\/p>\n

But Mariah says she does have some non-Christmas music coming, as well \u2014 though we’ll have to wait a while.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t want people to say I\u2019m\u00a0threatening\u00a0<\/em>them with an album, because that happened last year. So just say we have new music coming out and I\u2019m very excited about it,” she says. “I can\u2019t wait to put it out, but it won\u2019t be for at least until next year.”<\/p>\n

Mariah’s last non-holiday studio album was 2018’s Caution<\/em>. In January she’ll resume her Celebration of Mimi<\/a>\u00a0residency at Dolby Live at Park MGM Las Vegas.<\/p>\n

Meanwhile, in a little more than a month Mariah will be telling us in one of her famous videos that “it’s time” to start the holiday season.\u00a0Describing how that tradition began, she tells Vanity Fair,<\/em> “It started out because I would walk around saying, ‘Not\u00a0yet<\/em>\u2026,’ like, if people were playing Christmas music [before the season had begun], I\u2019d say, ‘Not\u00a0yet.'”<\/em>\u00a0<\/p>\n

“So me and the team sat down and decided, ‘Okay, we\u2019ll make an “it\u2019s time” video to signal when\u00a0it\u2019s time.'”<\/em><\/p>\n
