{"id":118495,"date":"2024-09-25T21:00:18","date_gmt":"2024-09-25T21:00:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/magic\/2024\/09\/25\/hearts-ann-wilson-offers-health-update-the-worst-is-over\/"},"modified":"2024-09-25T21:00:18","modified_gmt":"2024-09-25T21:00:18","slug":"hearts-ann-wilson-offers-health-update-the-worst-is-over","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/magic\/2024\/09\/25\/hearts-ann-wilson-offers-health-update-the-worst-is-over\/","title":{"rendered":"Heart\u2019s Ann Wilson offers health update: \u201cThe worst is over\u201d"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2024-09-25\/GETTY_HeartAnnWilson_092524.jpg\" alt><figcaption> Scott Dudelson\/Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>Heart<\/strong>\u2019s <strong>Ann Wilson<\/strong> has given fans a health update, the first time she\u2019s talked about her condition since announcing in July she was undergoing preventative chemotherapy after doctors removed something cancerous from her body.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cNow I know lots of you have been wondering how I have been doing so I thought it\u2019d be best if you heard it straight from me,\u201d she said in audio <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DAWbeCaPU-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"s1\"><strong>posted to social media<\/strong><\/span><\/a><span class=\"s1\">. \u201cI\u2019m doing absolutely fine now, but it\u2019s been, to put it mildly, a lot.\u201d<\/span>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cChemo is no joke. It takes a lot out of a person. And then there\u2019s that two weeks of waiting around for test results, a form of mental torture,\u201d she added. \u201cLuckily for me when the results finally came they were the good kind!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Wilson said she\u2019s now done with chemo and is focusing on getting ready for Heart\u2019s rescheduled tour in 2025, although she says she\u2019ll have to deal with some maintenance. But, \u201cI\u2019m told the side effects are much less severe.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cThe worst is over and I\u2019m thankful for the efficacy of the poison &#8211; but it\u2019s more than welcome to get the f*** out of my body now,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Finally she thanked those who \u201cprayed and sent me those good vibes,\u201d noting, \u201cI\u2019ve so felt your love.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">&#8220;My story has a happy ending due in part to early detection. My advice? Get checked regularly,&#8221; she added.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">\u201cI love you all and I\u2019ll see you very very soon,&#8221; she concluded her message. &#8220;There\u2019s much to celebrate.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\"><span class=\"s1\">Wilson&#8217;s health forced the postponement of Heart&#8217;s 2024 Royal Flush tour. The band\u00a0recently announced the rescheduled dates for the trek, which will now kick off in February.
