Art Garfunkel<\/strong> and his son\u00a0Art Garfunkel Jr<\/strong>. have teamed up for a joint album \u2014 called, appropriately, <\/span>Father And Son \u2014<\/span><\/em>\u00a0which features them covering songs from the 1930s, ’40s, ’50s, ’60s, ’70s and ’80s.<\/span><\/p>\n

The album is <\/span>out now,<\/span><\/a> and includes the two singing everything from Cyndi Lauper<\/strong>‘s “Time After Time” and The Everly Brothers<\/strong>‘ “Let It Be Me” to Eurythmics<\/strong>‘ “Here Comes the Rain Again” and Nat King Cole<\/strong>‘s “Nature Boy.” The two even duet on the Simon & Garfunkel<\/strong> classic “Old Friends.”<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI like to say my son is a better singer than I am. I mean, I\u2019m pretty good … but he is better … it\u2019s very thrilling to record with him now,\u201d the elder Garfunkel says in a statement. “The new album is a love letter. It brings us together.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

The younger singer, born James Garfunkel<\/strong> in 1990, says, “It\u2019s truly a father-son project. I brought more of the 80s influences into the project, and my father brought more of the Great American Songbook \u2013 wonderful songs from the 1940s and so on. These two influences came together in a pretty exciting way.”<\/span><\/p>\n

The father-son duo will do a residency at New York City’s The Carlyle<\/a> hotel from Nov. 12 through Nov. 16.<\/p>\n
