Paul Simon<\/strong> and singing partner Art Garfunkel<\/strong> have been estranged for years, but it sounds like their relationship may be on the mend.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a new interview with\u00a0the U.K. paper <\/span>The Sunday Times<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/a>, Garfunkel opened up about an emotional lunch they had together recently, which was one of the first times they\u2019d been together in awhile.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cI looked at Paul and said, \u2018What happened? Why haven\u2019t we seen each other?’\u201d Garfunkel shared. \u201cPaul mentioned an old interview where I said some stuff. I cried when he told me how much I had hurt him.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He added, \u201cLooking back, I guess I wanted to shake up the nice guy image of Simon & Garfunkel<\/strong>. Y\u2019know what? I was a fool!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

And in even happier news for Simon & Garfunkel fans,\u00a0the two 83-year-old musicians\u00a0are\u00a0planning for more meetups in the future, although that doesn\u2019t necessarily mean a reunion is in the works.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cWill Paul bring his guitar? Who knows,\u201d Garfunkel said. \u201cFor me, it was about wanting to make amends before it\u2019s too late. It felt like we were back in a wonderful place. As I think about it now, tears are rolling down my cheeks. I can still feel his hug.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Simon & Garfunkel, known for such classic tunes as \u201cBridge Over Troubled Water,\u201d \u201cHomeward Bound\u201d and \u201cThe Sound of Silence,” originally broke up in 1970, but reunited several times over the years. The last time they performed together was in 2010 at the American Film Institute Lifetime Achievement tribute to <\/span>The<\/span><\/em>\u00a0<\/span>Graduate<\/span><\/em> director Mike Nichols<\/strong>, where they performed their classic track from the film, \u201cMrs. Robinson.”<\/span><\/p>\n
