Elton John<\/strong> sits down with <\/span>Good Morning America<\/span><\/em>\u2019s Robin Roberts<\/strong> for a new interview airing Dec. 11, ahead of the Dec. 13 premiere of his new Disney+ documentary, <\/span>Elton John: Never Too Late<\/span><\/em>.<\/span><\/p>\n

In a <\/span>new preview<\/strong><\/span><\/a> of the sit-down, the Rock & Roll Hall of Famer talks about whether or not it was difficult to\u00a0watch some of the more challenging times in his life for the film.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cA bit. Because I hadn\u2019t seen a lot of that footage,\u201d Elton shares. \u201cBut what it did, it confirmed in myself that those were great songs \u2026 I played well and had a great band. The records were amazing. I tend to forget that because I don\u2019t listen to the past of, my past anyway.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Elton noted that\u00a0watching the film made him reflect on how he made 13 albums in such a short time while touring and doing interviews, and he came to an interesting conclusion.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere was no internet, there was no mobile phones and there were no paparazzi so we didn\u2019t have distractions,\u201d he said. \u201cArtists today have so many different distractions. It\u2019s a different ballgame.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

He added, \u201cI\u2019m so grateful that I grew up in that era.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Speaking of Elton\u2019s documentary, the rocker\u00a0just <\/span>shared a new clip from<\/strong><\/span><\/a> the film on Instagram, featuring John Lennon<\/strong> talking about their relationship. \u201cElton and I are very close,” Lennon\u00a0says in the clip. The film also promises to feature never-before seen footage of Lennon joining Elton onstage after his Thanksgiving 1974 Madison Square Garden show.<\/span><\/p>\n
