Dua Lipa<\/strong> had a great year: She released a new album, launched a world tour, headlined the Glastonbury Festival and got her own CBS-TV special. That’s why she says she doesn’t mind that her new album, Radical Optimism<\/em>, was snubbed by the Grammys.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Billboard<\/em><\/a>, Dua says, “I\u2019m so proud of Radical Optimism<\/em> and where it\u2019s brought me. I love that album and I\u2019m having the time of my life performing it live, and I\u2019ve been able to do things that I thought I could only dream of this year, so I\u2019m really grateful.\u201d<\/p>\n

“Although it would have been nice to be recognized by your industry, especially as a woman, I\u2019m so proud seeing so many incredible female artists nominated at the Grammys this year,” she added.<\/p>\n

She’s particularly proud that her friend Charli XCX<\/strong> has been nominated for multiple Grammys for her pop-culture-changing album Brat<\/em>. “I love her so much … she’s always been so supportive from day one. She deserves all the flowers,\u201d Dua tells Billboard.<\/em><\/p>\n

She adds, “She\u2019s really stuck to her guns and allowed herself to be creative in her own way, and it\u2019s paid off. That\u2019s the best thing that can ever happen to an artist. She\u2019s so deserving of every moment.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

So Dua has no regrets, she says, “Overall I\u2019m really happy with where I am. I don\u2019t think it really matters in the grand scheme of things where I am, where I want to be and where I\u2019m going. It doesn\u2019t change the way I feel about the record at all.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s honestly been the best year of my life. I\u2019ve done things that I\u2019ve wanted to do for so long,\u201d she notes. “I feel like I ticked so many of my boxes this year. It\u2019s amazing.\u201d<\/p>\n
