It’s taken months, but “Die With a Smile,” the Grammy-nominated duet between Lady Gaga<\/strong> and Bruno Mars<\/strong>, has finally hit #1<\/a> on the Billboard<\/em> Hot 100.<\/p>\n

The song debuted at #3 in August 2024 and previously climbed as high as #2 in November. The 20 weeks the song has taken to top the chart is the longest climb since Teddy Swims<\/strong>‘ “Lose Control” took 32 weeks to hit #1 back in March of last year.<\/p>\n

This is Gaga’s sixth #1 on the Hot 100; her most recent was her 2020 duet with Ariana Grande<\/strong>, “Rain on Me.”\u00a0As for Bruno, it’s his ninth #1 hit. His most recent was 2021’s “Leave the Door Open” as part of Silk Sonic<\/strong>, his duo with Anderson .Paak<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Billboard<\/em> also notes that Lady Gaga is now only the third artist to have scored multiple number ones on the Hot 100 in three distinct decades: She’s had two\u00a0number ones in the 2020s, two in the 2010s and two in the 2000s. Only Michael Jackson<\/strong> and Janet Jackson<\/strong> had previously accomplished this feat.<\/p>\n

And Bruno has yet another duet in the Hot 100 top 10: “APT,” a collaboration with K-Pop star ROS\u00c9<\/strong>, has jumped to #5, surpassing its previous peak of #8.<\/p>\n
