Cher<\/strong>‘s autobiography,\u00a0The Memoir: Part One<\/em>, has been #1 on the New York Times<\/em> bestseller list for six weeks, so people are obviously excited for Part Two, which is due in November. Only trouble is, Cher hasn’t begun writing it yet.<\/p>\n

When Cher appeared ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel<\/strong> Live!<\/em> on Jan. 7, she told the host she “hadn’t even started” Part Two, adding, “I was late [with Part One]. I finished it when they had to publish it.” When Kimmel then asked if it was still due out in November, Cher insisted, “Yes, it is.” “We’ll see,” replied a skeptical Kimmel. “November of what year?”<\/p>\n

After giving him a look, Cher said, “I’m a little tardy, but I think I’ll be better this time.”<\/p>\n

Kimmel also asked Cher about her friendship with the late President Jimmy Carter<\/strong>, who she met through her late ex-husband\u00a0Gregg Allman<\/strong>. Cher explained that his band the Allman Brothers<\/strong> raised money for Carter’s initial campaign. Asked if she spent “personal time” with Carter, Cher revealed, “I ate dinner with him his first night in the White House.”<\/p>\n

Kimmel peppered Cher with a series of rapid-fire questions, which she gamely answered. She revealed that her drivers license simply says “Cher” and she had to go to court to be able to do that; she’s been to Costco once; she was rejected from jury duty on the grounds that she’d been too “distracting”; she last played a video game a month ago; and if she could “turn back time,” she’d go back to when she was 60. “When you’re 78, 60 sounds great,” she joked.<\/p>\n

As the interview ended, Cher told Kimmel, “You’re\u00a0a lot nicer and funnier than I thought you would be.”<\/p>\n
