{"id":119082,"date":"2025-01-13T12:02:03","date_gmt":"2025-01-13T12:02:03","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/magic\/2025\/01\/13\/amid-la-wildfires-rachel-platten-announces-tour-this-is-my-way-of-helping\/"},"modified":"2025-01-13T12:02:03","modified_gmt":"2025-01-13T12:02:03","slug":"amid-la-wildfires-rachel-platten-announces-tour-this-is-my-way-of-helping","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/magic\/2025\/01\/13\/amid-la-wildfires-rachel-platten-announces-tour-this-is-my-way-of-helping\/","title":{"rendered":"Amid LA wildfires, Rachel Platten announces tour: &#8216;This IS my way of helping&#8217;"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2025-01-12\/Getty_rachelplatten_011225.jpg\" alt><figcaption> Sonja Flemming\/CBS via Getty Images<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Rachel Platten<\/strong> released a new album,\u00a0<em>I Am Rachel Platten,<\/em>\u00a0last year and now the &#8220;Fight Song&#8221; singer has announced a tour\u00a0\u2014 despite her misgivings over talking about anything positive amid the deadly LA wildfires.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;This has been such a horrifying week for those of us who live and work in Los Angles, a city I have called home for 10 years,&#8221; she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DEp_GmWxfqp\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\" data-mce-href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/DEp_GmWxfqp\/\">writes on Instagram<\/a>. &#8220;I don\u2019t have words to describe my feelings, a mixture of terror as I watched the fires grow and evacuated my family in the middle of the night, sadness for those who\u2019ve lost so much, but also awe and gratitude as I witnessed the city pull together helping one another walk through hell.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>She says, &#8220;For the last few months we\u2019ve been preparing a US tour. I have thought long and hard about whether to announce these dates as originally planned, and have decided that though it feels wrong in many ways to be talking about concerts and music and things that aren\u2019t directly related to this tragedy, this IS my way of helping.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Maybe we could all use the promise of evenings filled with love, hope, feelings, and songs to shed some light on the fear and sorrow so many of us are feeling,&#8221; she continues.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;In honor of the Angelenos who came before me, we\u2019re going to follow the oldest of Hollywood traditions: &#8216;the show must go on.&#8217; I\u00a0cannot wait to see your faces and hug you and cry together and feel our feelings and connect and saaaang!!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Tickets go on sale Jan. 13 for Rachel&#8217;s Set Me Free tour.
