After mentioning in a red carpet interview<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0that she has an “an attachment of\u00a0eternal sunshine” <\/em>that she plans to release at some point, Ariana Grande<\/strong> revealed more details of the project to<\/strong> Variety<\/strong><\/em><\/a>\u00a0\u2014 including the fact that we’ll have to wait for it.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the publication’s Awards Circuit Podcast<\/em>, Ari says the attachment is essentially a deluxe version with a few new songs. And while it’s “in the can,” she says she’s “still mulling over the timing in my head” as far as a release date is concerned.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s a very special project,\u201d she says. \u201cI\u2019m out there so much right now. I want to let my children miss me for two seconds. I\u2019m excited to surprise them with it at some point.” Referring to the character she portrayed in the video for “we can’t be friends (wait for your love)<\/strong><\/a>,” Ari adds, “It\u2019s not the end of \u2018Peaches\u2019 just yet, but she\u2019s going in the closet for a minute.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe album is so concise, and I didn\u2019t want to add songs just for the sake of it,” she notes. “The new tracks are short, but they really count.\u201d<\/p>\n

And as for that idea she floated in 2024 of doing some kind of tour between Wicked<\/em> movies \u2014 forget it. \u201cI was considering a mini-tour … but I\u2019ve decided to prioritize acting for now,\u201d she says. \u201cPerforming will always be a part of my life, but I want to focus on this chapter of storytelling through film.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Wicked<\/em> sequel, Wicked For Good,<\/em> is due out in November 2025 and will feature a new song that the musical’s composer, Stephen Schwartz<\/strong>, wrote for her character.<\/p>\n

She says, “It\u2019s a privilege to sing this song and be the first Glinda to bring it to life.\u201d<\/p>\n
