{"id":119162,"date":"2025-01-27T12:01:22","date_gmt":"2025-01-27T12:01:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/magic\/2025\/01\/27\/despite-new-album-title-teddy-swims-has-finally-tried-therapy\/"},"modified":"2025-01-27T12:01:22","modified_gmt":"2025-01-27T12:01:22","slug":"despite-new-album-title-teddy-swims-has-finally-tried-therapy","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/lascrucestoday.com\/magic\/2025\/01\/27\/despite-new-album-title-teddy-swims-has-finally-tried-therapy\/","title":{"rendered":"Despite new album title, Teddy Swims has finally tried therapy"},"content":{"rendered":"<div>\n<figure><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/s3.amazonaws.com\/syndication.abcaudio.com\/files\/2025-01-24\/M_teddy%20swims_claire%20marie%20vogel_0100124.jpg\" alt><figcaption>Claire Marie Vogel<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><strong>Teddy Swims<\/strong>&#8216; last album was called <em>I&#8217;ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 1)<\/em>, and his new album is called\u00a0<em>I&#8217;ve Tried Everything But Therapy (Part 2).\u00a0<\/em>But the title of the new album isn&#8217;t exactly true anymore.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.musicweek.com\/talent\/read\/i-feel-like-i-m-ready-for-it-teddy-swims-keeps-up-the-pace-with-album-no-2\/091240\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em><strong>Music Week<\/strong><\/em><\/a><em>,<\/em> Teddy says that between his two albums, he started seeing a therapist on his own and also with his partner, <strong>Raiche Wright<\/strong>, who is expecting the couple&#8217;s first child.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe first project was so much me trying to heal and left so many questions of trying to get to the other side of what that was like,&#8221; he says. &#8220;I can now come with more answers and a little less turmoil. There\u2019s still heartbreak in there, but it feels like I can talk about it, because &#8230; I\u2019m on the other side of it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Teddy was first signed to his record label back in 2019, but it was only in the past year that he found fame \u2014 and a Grammy nod \u2014 with &#8220;Lose Control.&#8221; But he says that, in retrospect, the timing worked out for the better.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI thought it was all going to come right then, like I\u2019d finally made it,\u201d he tells <em>Music Week<\/em>. \u201cI was going to break through. And then we went through the pandemic and it took five years to get to where I thought I was supposed to be.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">\u201cYou want everything right now, but God\u2019s timing is real. I feel like I\u2019m ready for it, mentally, physically and spiritually,&#8221; he explains.<\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\">&#8220;If I would\u2019ve got to where I\u2019m at right now five years ago, I would\u2019ve sent it to my liver or right up my nose.
